January
6, 2003
Half way through the season, the Lady Vipers have dominated the
Manhattan B division with an undefeated record of 7-0. Their
performances are extraordinary in each game and their experience
shows that they are the top team of their division. So far
though the season, they are showing that they are going to repeat as
division champions and another undefeated season. Even without
their star point guard Tasha Whitney, the bench shows that they can
step up to the plate andplay their role on the basketball
court. the Lady Vipers have always been on top of their
division for the past couple of years. This year they proved
that they are a factor through the season and most likely be very
affective through out the Play-Offs. |
March
3, 2003
Our Lady Vipers varsity basketball team for the second time in three
years went to the quarter finals Saturday, March 1, 2003.
Unfortunately the outcome was not what the Lady Vipers wished it
would be; however it was a hell of a game to end the season.
From the starting quarter to the last dance the Lady Vipers showed
enough intensity to take over Iraq, which was a major reason why
Grand Street Campus did not run right through us. Losing their
senior guard Natasha Whitney for the entire season left them out
with a good ball-handler. This in result led the Lady
Vipers to have a lot of turnovers, causing the senior center Ngozi
Utti, seven-teen points to four0teen rebounds, to take control and
try to make her own shots. Adding to the Vipers defeat Suzette
Samuels Lady Vipers Sophomore forward stepped up as she usually does
with twenty points and fourteen rebounds.
Outcome
GSC over HPHS 55-45 |
