Be
On Time:
If
you have a scheduled time slot, make every effort to be prompt.
Be
Positive:
Make
the teacher your partner; he or she also wants to see your child
succeed.
Look
Around:
Ask
to see your child's work if it is not displayed in the
classroom. Ask questions about classroom activities.
Ask
For Feedback:
Is
there anything you can do at home to make a difference in the
classroom? Is there anything the teacher wants to share with
you about your child?
Take
Notes:
Write
down important details for future reference.
Make
Plans To Follow Up:
Keep
Track of the status of serious situations. Schedule any
necessary meetings with other school staff.
All
Subjects Are Important:
Gym,
Music, Art and other subjects provide additional insight into your
child's school personality. Don't forget to visit these
teachers too.
Stay
In Touch:
Teachers
appreciate a Thank You. Send a note. Remind the
teacher of the things he or she agreed to do.
Volunteer
In Your Child's School:
If
you have time, volunteer to participate in school activities.
Ask if you can help in the classroom. Your child and others
will benefit.
Congratulate
Yourself!
You
are a truly concerned and caring parent. |
